STRAW - thousands of years old to cultural property
in ecological + economic application

STRAW is as a generic term for dried stems and stalks from - threshed primarily - CEREALS-/ - oil and fiber-/ including certain leaf and water plants understood. The importance of straw goes back far into the ground connection historical time. Since stem and stack plants the globe wildly overgrown, there is STRAW, although not in the sense understood today. In its early stage STRAW became as feed of plant-eating animals and also discovered for building nests and caves and used, not only of reptiles and birds.

With the agriculture the cultivation of wild plants in useful plants began. Grain plants belong reliably to the all first efforts.
Barley, rye, oats, above all wheat was bred successfully grafted / bred.
Finds remnants of straw show that e.g. in Egypt, near Aswan, before about 17.000 years, barley and STRAW were used and processed. Sure is that before about 10.000 years ago in Mesopotamia (modern Iraq and Syria) of wheat and barley farming have been economically! The increasing urbanization-related fixed and weather-resistant
Accommodation for humans and animals, climate-balancing walls, roofs were especially needed. STRAW became the indispensable, most important building material. A straw-handicraft developed and even arts and crafts.
Numerous examples of ornate wicker products, like baskets, bowls, straw hats, mats etc. witness impressively from this technical skill. As Thatched Roof and as mortar-solidify STRAW experienced an extensive meaning, into the youngest Present continues. STRAW is in practical application on all five continents - in all Cultures...
STRAW maintained its important position until NOW. The explosively growing cultivation of grain in the entire world gave ever higher straw quantities. STRAW is also today the basis of the modern agriculture and livestock industry – as a basis of food- care- and preservation. The by far larger portions of STRAW remain to the grounds- nevertheless in the technical sense unused and finally become under-mixed into soil.

Due to technical progress in the industrial age-related, ran a lot of good insights and experiences into oblivion. STRAW Even as a building material was not excluded and was the last 150 years, more and more pushed into the background. The valuable Knowledge of its physical properties and their usefulness has been largely buried, and will hardly ever used.

This development is however, still in its early beginning and still is diversified.

STRAW is used also in the industrial age sporadically as building and insulating material, e.g. as straw ball-
Constructions. But this use is strongly reduced due to high space-volume as well as increased fire susceptibility.
Logically and consistently had to be the development of a solid MATERIAL that the demands on modern and ecological building materials with the historical experiences and values profitably connect.

The result was a biologically perfect building material with ideal parameters for heat and sound insulation as well as for simple, faster processing - The TEC SHEET, -

What is STRAW TEC?
STRAW TEC („STRAW TECHNOLOGY “) draws on the good experiences
of thousands of years of the natural raw material STRAW and uses these valuable knowledge.

STRAW TEC stands for a modern construction element for non-load-bearing applications. It consists of at 200 ° C
highly compressed, stalk-pressed STRAW  -  free of any binders and with a tissue-card port lamination.
All containing protein components are removed for the straw before - thus the infestation is excluded from RODENTS.
The individual elements are 800 mm wide and can be used in variable lengths of 1000 and 3000 mm.
The element strength (thickness) is 58 mm; the weight reaches 20.5 kg/m ². Thus a compact corpus with
excellent physical properties and characteristics and high console-load- borders are available. Outstanding
sound/warmth/cooling insulation with high compressive strength! The stability of the element permits an
assembly within the partition range without any stand construction can be in single or multi-shelled installed.
Each element has four embedded cable channels, which bring order into the installation. The completely flat-even and smooth surface of the element is comparable with a gypsum cardboard coat and can be further processed immediately.

Separating-cuts in the construction-element with a hand circular saw at high revolutions carried out; all the interfaces are fitted with a commercially available adhesive tape (minimum 80 mm width) to cover an erosion of compressed straw-mass in order to prevent the straw itself harmless for Allergy to lock.

STRAW TEC -   the PROCESSING

The processing is simply, uncomplicatedly and fast.

The STRAW TEC construction elements are usually using construction screws, length approx. 122 - 136 mm with coarse thread, e.g. Window-construction screws, diameters at least 7.5 mm directly with one another as well as to the walls, covers or grounds which can be attached screws on. The connection joints are covered with a building fabric and masked with a plaster-filler, alternatively with an adhesive splicing tape.
The integrated special cable channels facilitate a fast shifting of electric cables and avoid the later up-lift and the plastering of these slots.
Note: for drilling out of cavity-cans / electrical outlets a crown-drill should be used. DONE!

The walls posed can immediately continue to work on to become – wallpapered or tiled, etc. The construction is solidly, stably, the STRAW TEC elements are of high pressure-load and has high tear out firmness and also it is with heavy articles trouble-free loadable. High cabinets, kitchen appliances, machines device, light wash basins, etc. are hung on there, where these are used or wished. Interior radically Reinforcements or special attachment is void.
For console load requirements a two-shell building method is necessary due to the used wall thicknesses (for these commercial screws of 40-300 kg of excerpt load are available).
